A large 1960s Keraluc ceramic jug signed by André L’Helguen. Elegantly proportioned with a baluster body rising from a flared pedestal foot, it features a sturdy loop handle and raised pouring spout, recalling the traditional chevrette water jug form. The surface is hand-painted in a lively polychrome of rose, olive, sky blue, and ochre, with stylized foliate scrolls, jewel-like paneled reserves, and dotted borders encircling the rim and foot. The glaze has a soft satin sheen, and the brushwork remains vibrant and assured. Condition is very good, with light surface wear to the glaze and foot consistent with age and use, and no visible chips or cracks.

Keraluc, the pottery workshop founded in Quimper, Brittany, in 1948, championed artist-led production that reinterpreted regional ceramic traditions through modern color and design. Working closely with individual painters such as L’Helguen, the workshop produced expressive, small-batch ceramics that balanced strong form, have made Keraluc pieces enduringly appealing to collectors and decorators alike.
