A large and elegant covered vase in Delft faience, decorated in blue monochrome on a white ground. The domed lid is topped with a charming bird-shaped finial, adding a sculptural and decorative touch to the overall composition. The underside bears a mark.
Delftware, produced in the Netherlands from the 17th century onwards, is renowned for its blue and white decoration inspired by Chinese porcelain, and remained highly popular throughout the 19th century.
Condition is good overall, with few minor chips and a small restoration barely visible at the base of the bird finial.
A refined and decorative piece, ideal for display on a console, mantel, or as part of a collection of blue and white ceramics, bringing a timeless old world charm to an interior.
