Similar to a Tian jar but with a pouring beak and handles, this large antique French green glazed terracotta mixing bowl dates from the end of the nineteenth century, southwest France. First used as a multifunctional large bowl to wash clothes or vegetables for example. The interior is fully glazed with a beautiful green color that reaches the rim and ribbed handles. The tapered exterior exhibits its natural unglazed terracotta.
A charming piece of Provençal history to mix into your daily life and décor. It will make a fabulous central table decoration filled with citrus or a floral arrangement. It could also serve as a large cooler filled with ice for drinks. Note the beak and interior exhibit minor chips as seen in photos.
