This extraordinary very large gilded wood mirror hails from the nineteenth century, France. This grand mirror features pretty pearling details around the innermost part of the frame and a flat base where it can rest easily on a flat surface like a mantlepiece, console or a commode. The original mirror shows some minor foxing over the passage of time but functions well as a practical mirror with a clear reflection.
A stunning addition to add a touch of French charm and elegance to any space. See photos to observe the original wood back of the mirror, and note the lower right-hand side of the wood frame is slightly separated from the mirror but solid and difficult to see from a straight-on view.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
