A striking large Italian double-sided lectern dating from the 19th century, featuring an oak upper section raised on an elegant walnut pedestal base. The beautifully sculpted tripod stand displays graceful scrolling feet and finely turned details, giving the piece both visual lightness and architectural presence.
Designed to be viewed and used from both sides, the upper section is formed as a double-sided slanted reading stand in beautifully aged oak, with angled panels designed to support an open book or sheet music. Small projecting ledges run along each side, while a circular cut-out on one panel adds a charming detail. The rich wood grain, warm patina, and timeworn irregularities give the piece its authentic character, while the contrast between the oak top and sculptural walnut base adds depth and elegance to the overall silhouette.
It would make a beautiful focal point in a library, study, entrance hall, or living space, and could be used to display art books, bound volumes, photographs, or sheet music. Its sculptural form draws the eye immediately, bringing height, authenticity, and historic European character to an interior. It could also be beautifully repurposed in a kitchen to hold a favorite recipe book or a digital tablet used for cooking recipes, combining practical use with elegant decorative appeal.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
