Dating from the late-nineteenth century, this superb, large confit pot has a wonderfully round silhouette and two small handles at the top. It is glazed all over in vibrant green. From southwest France, pots like these were originally used for preserves such as meat sealed under a layer of fat and stored in the cellar.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
