A large, antique French tian bowl from Chanteduc, the home of Patricia and Walter Wells in Provence. With cinnamon-brown ocher glaze on the inside and rim, it was likely used originally to make jam or confiture. Patricia recalls purchasing this from a brocante that specialized in confiture-themed antiques. Note the beautiful, unglazed, aged patina on the outside and a few losses to the glaze around the rim consistent with age and use. A lovely bowl to store decorative ornaments around the holidays or to augment a collection of antique French pottery.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
