Large Contemporary Still Life w/ Bottles and Cups by Caroline Beauzon - 56¼" x 28¾"

This large pastel on rice paper by contemporary French artist Caroline Beauzon features a group of elongated bottles and small drinking vessels in a beautiful palette of olive, moss and deep forest greens. Three tall bottles dominate the composition, their simple, rounded silhouettes overlapping, while a fourth, broader vessel and several small cups are arranged below. The variations in scale and the different shades of green create a pleasing rhythm against the soft cream background. The matte, gently textured pastel lends warmth to the bold shapes, while the natural rice paper adds a subtle softness. Monogrammed CB in the lower left corner, the work is presented in a simple light wood frame that complements its understated palette.

Based in Provence, Caroline Beauzon is known for her colorful, graphic interpretations of familiar objects, particularly those associated with domestic life. Here, Beauzon transforms a simple collection of bottles and cups into a bold, almost abstract composition, playing with exaggerated proportions and overlapping forms while keeping the familiar objects immediately recognizable. With its generous size, rich greens and graphic character, this work would make a beautiful focal point in a kitchen or dining room, at once bold and quietly sophisticated."
