This large preserving pot dates from the mid-nineteenth century and is from the Languedoc region of France. It was originally used for preserving thing such as olives, oil and pickles. It is glazed with nearly matte dark green to the top half and inside, and there are two small handles.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
