An large French oval dish in white-glazed earthenware, likely early to mid-20th century. Substantial in weight and softly irregular in form, it shows the spontaneity of hand-thrown work, with a slightly uneven rim and subtle asymmetry that lend it quiet charm. The thick white glaze pools gently along the edges, while the base, somewhat irregular, gives the piece a faint instability when set down, an honest trace of its handmade origin. Unmarked and in good condition with minor wear, it reflects the quiet refinement of humble pottery made for daily use.
Its quiet silhouette and soft white glaze make an easy companion to stone, wood and linen. Style it on open kitchen shelving with other white faience, center it on a farmhouse table as a fruit or bread tray, or use it on a sideboard beneath a pitcher of seasonal greens.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
