Large Five-Light Girandole Table Lamp w/ Cascading Blue Pendants - 21¾" x 15"

This five-light contemporary table lamp is an imaginative one-off creation assembled from vintage lighting elements. A substantial, weighty wooden base gives the piece excellent stability and rises into a richly patinated, urn-shaped support, above which an old chandelier frame has been reworked as the upper structure. Five scrolling brass-colored arms carry the lights, surrounded by a lively cascade of long, slender drops in soft blue pâte de verre and clear glass.The delicate pendants introduce color and movement, their cascading arrangement evoking the graceful fall of water in a fountain.

 The piece was conceived and carefully assembled in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence by a passionate specialist in historic lighting who works closely with Mathieu Lustrerie, the renowned Provençal atelier specializing in the restoration and creation of fine lighting. Each light is fitted with a high-quality ivory silicone candle sleeve designed to imitate real wax, together with a dimmable flame-effect bulb. Particular attention has been given to the quality and safety of the electrification while allowing the varied antique elements and their aged surfaces to retain their character.

Despite its generous scale and five lights, the open framework and elongated glass drops keep the lamp visually light. The contrast between the softly weathered base, warm metal and cool blue glass gives it a distinctive, slightly fantastical character. It would sit beautifully on a large console or side table, where the cascading blue glass brings brings a lighter, more fanciful note to a classically furnished room.
