Sculptural French 12-Light Hand-Forged Iron Chandelier - 45¾" x 42½"

A striking French twelve-light hand-forged iron chandelier dating from the second half of the 20th century. Inspired by Neo-Gothic or Brutalist ironwork, its sculptural silhouette is defined by twelve hand-forged scrolling arms that alternate rhythmically between longer and shorter lengths around a tall central stem. Ingeniously constructed, the central stem is formed by two interlocking sets of arms: the six shorter arms converge first to create a lower clustered shaft, while the six longer arms continue upward before joining to form a second, taller shaft that rises seamlessly to the suspension chain.

Finished with a rich, dark patina, the chandelier has a timeless, understated character that complements both rustic and refined interiors. Its generous scale makes it an ideal statement piece above a dining table, in a grand entrance hall, or beneath a vaulted ceiling. The original patina displays light wear and subtle oxidation consistent with age, accentuating the hammered surfaces and hand-forged craftsmanship. Presented in good vintage condition, with minor wear commensurate with age and use, it retains its twelve faux candle sleeves.
