A monumental Directoire mirror with a rectangular gilt frame from the late eighteenth / early nineteenth century. It has two mirror panes, as large panes of glass were very difficult to make at the time. The gilt frame has beading running around the inside and the broad part of the frame is decorated with palmette and floral motifs. The missing gilding will be repaired with gold leaf in the near future.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
