A vintage French bubble glass vase, likely by Biot, from Patricia Wells' collection of vintage glassware, displayed in the living room at Chanteduc. Mouth blown in clear verre bullé, or bubble glass, it carries a soft mineral tint and a constellation of fine, even bubbles. The profile lifts gently to a broad rim and settles on a thick, rounded base, a reassuring weight that reads both sturdy and refined.
Glass blowers traditionally seed the hot gather with mineral powders so air forms throughout the glass, catching the light and giving texture without heaviness. This example is generous in scale with a wide opening that welcomes branches of olive or bay. Place it on a dining console with seasonal stems, or use it as an elegant hurricane with a pillar candle to bring the sparkle of Provence to an interior or terrace.
