This large vintage French ceramic serving platter by Geneviève Lethu dates from the 1980s and features a generous rectangular form framed by a richly molded border of fruit, leaves and other vegetal motifs. The soft monochrome white glaze keeps the overall look fresh and understated, while allowing the richly molded fruit border to take center stage. Light patina remains in some of the deeper recesses, emphasizing the modeling, although this could be cleaned further if a brighter finish were preferred. There are no visible chips.
Founded in the 1970s, Geneviève Lethu became a recognized name in French tableware, known for bringing a more decorative and design-led approach to everyday dining. Its collections frequently revisited traditional French ceramic forms and motifs with an emphasis on shape, surface and presentation.
Ideal for presenting fruit, serving cake or arranging hors d’oeuvres, it brings an easy sense of French table elegance to entertaining, and feels equally at home in traditional and contemporary interiors.
