Late 19th-century cast metal portrait medallion wall plaque with a deep black patina. The circular roundel presents a crisp bas-relief profile of a dignified gentleman, possibly depicting the Duke of Wellington, encircled by a laurel garland, with a crowned crest of military trophies and a crown above . The casting is sharp, with gently rubbed highlights accentuating the relief. Drawing on the Empire Revival style popular in the late 19th century, the laurel wreath and military trophies evoke themes of victory and service, while the crowned crest suggests an honored figure. The black patina is likely later, but enhances the sobriety and gravitas of the piece.
Ideal above a mantel, in a paneled study, or within a gallery wall, this piece anchors the space with a sense of history and authority. It is not currently fitted for hanging and would require an appropriate mounting system, though it could also be displayed on a stand.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
