A classic planter with two handles from Castelnaudary. it has a timeworn green glaze. Several similar planters are currently available. Late nineteenth-century. Castelnaudary planters always have handles because they were planted with citrus that needed to be carried under shelter for the cold winter months.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
