This antique French copper jelly mold, from the late 19th century, comes from the kitchen of a former hotel in Avignon. Oval in shape, it features beautifully gadrooned sides and an embossed central design of grapes, pomegranate, and leaves, a motif that celebrates the natural abundance often reflected in French culinary tradition. Its warm, aged patina adds to its charm.
In traditional French kitchens, copper was highly valued not only for its excellent heat conductivity and durability, but also for its aesthetic beauty. Molds like this were used to create elegant gelatin-based desserts, appreciated both for their flavor and their presentation.
Today, this piece makes a striking accent in any kitchen or dining area, whether hung on a wall or displayed on a shelf, bringing a touch of rustic refinement and French heritage to your space.
