A French corner cupboard from the late 19th century, in walnut with a later hand-applied painted finish in chalky putty and stone tones. The two-part construction presents a molded cornice above twin doors with raised and shaped panels in the Louis XV manner, a gently bowed lower section with conforming paneled doors, and a shaped apron on short bracket feet. Original iron locks and escutcheons are retained, together with a key. The painted surface shows layered wear, rub-throughs to the walnut, and small abrasions consistent with age, lending the piece a timeworn yet sturdy and functional presence.
This "encoignure" anchors a corner with quiet elegance in a dining room, kitchen, or entry, adding both function and charm. Equally effective as a china press, a discreet bar, or pantry storage, it brings depth and rustic character to both traditional and modern interiors.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
