An Italian late 19th-century neoclassical wall mirror with a tall, graceful silhouette, carved in wood and finished in deep green lacquer with quiet traces of gilding that gently warm the edges. The frame unfolds with scrolling details, acanthus-like flourishes, and a stylized shell crest flanked by curled volutes, giving the piece a poised, architectural presence. The surface shows a rich, layered patina with timeworn lacquer, softened gold highlights, and an old mirror plate that displays light speckling and minor scratches while remaining clear and functional.
Its narrow, vertical proportions make it well suited to a smaller entryway, above a narrow basin in a powder room, or to accent a niche between windows or doors.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
