A small French wall mirror from the late 19th century with a rectangular profile, finished in a soft seafoam green patina that highlights its delicately carved frame. The wood and gesso surround is enriched with a continuous foliate frieze and an inner beaded molding, framing the mercury-backed glass with its subtle sparkle and timeworn character. Condition is good overall, with scattered foxing and age spots to the plate, light abrasions at the edges, and gentle wear consistent with age.
This charming piece works beautifully above a console, in a powder room, or as part of a layered wall arrangement. Its understated ornament and chalky seafoam surface lend texture and quiet color, harmonizing with Gustavian, coastal, or country-house palettes while providing contrast to modern settings. Its smaller scale makes it versatile, adding depth and soft shimmer wherever it is placed.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
Approx. overall 22" high x 19" wide x 1½" thick
