This stunning tapestry fire screen dates from the Louis XIV period (late seventeenth century) and is enveloped in a walnut wood frame and backed with a beige-yellow silk. The tapestry is designed to be pulled up, down or removed completely from the frame to regulate the temperature of the fire. The beautiful walnut frame is carved by hand with scrolling edges. The tapestry uses classic thread colors of red, green, and yellow to depict a natural scene surrounding a figure next to a small portrait of a man in the Louis XIV style. A fabulous piece to decorate your living room or bedroom fireplace.
