This superb Louis XV sauteuse commode dates from the eighteenth-century. The name sauteuse meaning 'jumping' is because it looks as though it could hop with the legs. The drawers have dovetail joints and the face and sides are curved or arbalete. The black paint finish has recently been applied. A classic commode for both modern and traditional interiors.
