A fine Louis XVI settee dating back to the late 1700s. Newly re-upholstered in linen, original beech frame carved with floral motifs. A bright and cheerful design indicates that the canapé was made while Marie Antoinette was still alive. After she was executed, in her honour furniture of that era was painted black.
