A large marble mortar and pestle in stand. Most likely from a pharmacy and dating to the late 18th / early 19th century.
The Marble has flat lobes with one beak and is in very good condition with minor chips only. The finish is polished and the base is very thick.
The weighty double pestle has a shiny patina with some wear.
The tall stand is either walnut or oak with a rich brown finish. It has visible knots, wear and cracks. The mortar sits in a recess.
Woodworm has been treated.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
