Graceful and graphic, this matched pair of octagonal ironstone serving pieces in the Indiana pattern by Clairefontaine, circa 1890, features a creamy ground with deep cobalt blue transfer decoration of fern fronds, seed pods, and stylized blossoms, all framed by a fine chevron border. One is a flat platter and the other a shallow bowl. The surfaces show the soft sheen of age, the printing is crisp, and the palette remains vivid.
Displayed on a kitchen dresser or open shelving, the pair adds a calm, graphic rhythm to a blue-and-white scheme. They sit beautifully as chargers on a dining table, layered with plain white china, or can be wall-mounted as decorative panels above a sideboard. In a coastal, country, or traditional interior, their restrained palette and crisp borders lend quiet structure, while the botanical scene introduces a lyrical note.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
One measures approx. 13½" diameter x 1¼" high. the other is 11¾" diameter x 0¾" high
