This small vintage ceramic pitcher is finished in a creamy off-white glaze that sets the stage for raised strawberries, serrated leaves, and a single blossom, the softly hand-painted details giving it a welcoming, handmade character. The relief decoration, slightly rounded and tactile, reflects mid 20th century cottage tableware that took inspiration from the garden and celebrated fruit and foliage in expressive, hand-finished forms. Unsigned, it carries the gentle irregularities and charm associated with everyday ceramics of its time. The tapering form flares softly at the base and is finished with a low, wide spout and a tidy loop handle that sits comfortably in the hand. The surface shows a matte to satin sheen with subtle firing specks, light age toning, and a few faint stains, presenting in overall good vintage condition. Easy to place and quietly cheerful, it works well as a small cream or syrup pitcher at breakfast, or as a bud vase for herbs and wildflowers on a kitchen shelf. Its soft palette complements stoneware, ironstone, and clear glass, adding a fresh spring touch without competing with other pieces.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
