This mid-20th-century Provençal landscape by Honoré Camos (1906–1991) is painted in oil on panel and signed at the lower left. A modest stone farmhouse with a weathered tiled roof sits beneath a clear blue sky, surrounded by pale grasses and loosely described vegetation. Camos’s textured handling is particularly effective in the rough masonry and sun-dried landscape, where areas of flaking and aged paint sit naturally alongside the painter’s broken, expressive brushwork. The work is presented in a later metallic-finish frame whose muted tones complement the palette of the painting. Characteristic of 20th-century Provençal landscape painting, the scene celebrates the simple textures and distinctive light of southern France. Its chalky whites, faded greens and expansive blue sky evoke the dry, sunlit countryside, while the weathered paint surface reinforces the rustic character of the farmhouse. The restrained contemporary frame gives the work a clean presence, bringing a warm, relaxed Provençal atmosphere to any room.
