Graceful in profile and poised on an integral circular plinth, this petite French garden goose is cast in reconstituted stone and dates to the mid-20th century. The form is modeled with a slender neck, softly rounded beak, and a quietly attentive stance that conveys a gentle, pastoral charm. Stippled feathering along the body transitions into a smoother breast and base. Its surface shows a chalky gray to off-white tone with traces of lichened green and flaking remnants of old limewash, creating a beautifully mottled, timeworn patina.
This figure brings gentle character to a garden path, the edge of a pond, or a sheltered terrace, where its patina reads beautifully among terracotta and boxwood. Indoors, it works as a whimsical accent on a console in a garden room or mudroom, or as a sculptural counterpoint atop a rustic mantel. Pair it with zinc planters or weathered urns for a collected look, or let it stand alone on a low stone plinth to mark an entry or gateway.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
