Mid 20th Century Oil On Canvas Still Life w/Coffee Grinder - 25½" x 30¾"

A quietly atmospheric still life, this mid-20th-century oil on canvas brings together a hand-cranked coffee grinder, a rustic terracotta pan, a slender blue vase of flowers, and a single contrasting lemon. Arranged on a pale tabletop, the composition is defined by confident, inky contours that unify the objects and enhance their presence. Slate, ivory, ocher, and soft blues build gentle blocks of form that recall the post-Cubist language of European modernism, where everyday objects were distilled into strong shapes and measured light. Presented in a stepped giltwood frame with a linen fabric liner that adds depth and texture, the work is in very good condition, and the frame shows minor age wear. The painting appears to be unsigned.
