A Vallauris earthenware jug dating from the 1950s–60s, with a rounded form, an arched handle bridging the mouth, and a raised pouring spout, characteristic of mid-century production. It features a striking marbled glaze in layered tones of olive, ochre, and deep brown. The surface appears almost fluid, with swirling patterns created by blending and trailing coloured slips and glazes that fuse during firing. Rooted in traditional slip decoration, this technique allows colours to flow and intermingle freely, creating expressive, one-of-a-kind surfaces. A stamped mark is tucked beneath the handle. Condition is good overall, but a few nicks are visible on the base.
Earthy and dynamic, the glaze evokes stone, moss, or flowing water, while the glossy finish enhances its depth, movement, and presence. It displays beautifully on a kitchen dresser, entry console, or open shelving, where its marbled glaze brings depth to neutral stone, oak, or linen. It can be used as a characterful vase for dried stems or olive branches, grouped with other ceramics for a layered, rustic composition, or placed on its own as a striking focal point in a Mediterranean or collected interior.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
