This versatile teak mid-century ensemble from the late 1960s to early 1970s, likely originating from Northern France or England, combines a serving trolley with a nesting side table, the smaller table sliding neatly beneath the trolley when not in use. The teak is varnished in a darker, glossy tone, giving the piece a rich, warm, and elegant depth.
Both pieces stand on elegant X-shaped supports with curule-inspired curves. The nesting table terminates in sled runners, while the trolley is fitted with original dark metal casters for smooth movement. Slender turned stretchers unite the frame, lending both structural balance and visual poise. Both tops are protected by glass plates, making the piece practical for drinks service while allowing the wood to catch the light.
Condition is very good overall, with light surface scuffs to the wood, faint scratches to the glass, and minor oxidation to the wheels consistent with age and use. The smaller table shows gentle wear along the sides of the top where it slides in and out of the trolley.
Compact and adaptable, this rolling bar reflects the relaxed elegance of mid-20th century living, when aperitif service moved easily from dining room to salon. Perfect beside a club chair or at the end of a canapé, it works beautifully as a drinks station, tea table, or small movable side table for books and flowers.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
