A very large Louis XV trumeau mirror from the eighteenth century. The frame has gilding to the three-dimensional acanthus leaves and the oil on canvas painting above depicts a noblewoman being entertained by a performer. The glass was replaced some time ago.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
