Dating from the Napoleon III (nineteenth-century) period, this superb Boulle work marquetry cartel clock is in the Louis XIV style. The clockface has enamel Roman numerals, and it is designed to sit on a mantle or console rather than wall mounted. The frame is gilded bronze, retains the original key and mechanism - does not currently function.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
