An elegant 19th Century Ferdinand Barbedienne vide poche or coin dish. Most likely bronze. The handles are shaped like spades and there is the head of the god / hero Antinous in the middle. He was a young Bithynian Greek and beloved by the Roman emperor Hadrian. Signed by the maker. This would make a superb gift for a man for storing cuff links, watches and coins.
