This elegant Napoleon III period hall stand in wrought iron combines coat, hat, and umbrella storage in a single refined structure. The design is both functional and decorative, with gracefully scrolling elements and a light, openwork silhouette typical of the late 19th century.
The upper section features multiple curved hooks for hats and coats, arranged around a central support with symmetrical scroll motifs that lend balance and visual interest. The slender vertical uprights lead down to a circular umbrella stand, framed by delicate ironwork and fitted with removable drip trays, allowing water to be easily collected and emptied.
The piece retains an old black painted finish, which is not original but contributes to its character and patina. Areas of paint loss and oxidation create a layered surface consistent with age, enhancing its authenticity. The piece remains stable and functional.
A fine and versatile example of classic French ironwork of the late 19th century, ideal for a mudroom in a country estate or a refined French restaurant entrance, combining practicality for multiple guests with understated decorative elegance.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
