A handsome cast iron planter in the neoclassical style, dating from the 20th century. The cylindrical body is decorated in relief with lending the piece a sense of timeless formality while remaining versatile enough for both traditional and contemporary settings. Finished in weathered blue-grey paint, the surface has developed areas of rust and oxidation, particularly around the base, creating a richly layered patina that enhances its character. The planter is pierced for drainage.
Equally suited to a garden, conservatory, terrace, or entrance hall, this substantial planter brings texture, history, and architectural presence wherever it is placed. Filled with clipped boxwood, seasonal flowers, or olive branches, it creates an effortlessly elegant focal point.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
