Off-White Octagonal Dinnerware Service for Ten - Uzes

A set of twenty‑three French faïence plates comprising twelve dinner plates and eleven entrée or dessert plates, each with an octagonal rim molded with a delicate perlé bead border. Handmade by the atelier Bernard & Véronique at Pichon, Uzès, they present in a soft off‑white glaze with a quiet sheen and plain wells. The set is in very good vintage condition with light utensil wear to the centers, a few tiny kiln specks and subtle glaze toning consistent with hand production, the rims remaining crisp and clean. The restrained octagonal profile and pearl beading draw directly from Louis XVI neoclassicism, where jewel‑like perles and crisp geometry replaced Rococo exuberance. French potters long translated such motifs into faïence, echoing the beaded mounts of silver and ormolu on shaped table services.
