A charming pair of 1950s French painted iron pedestal tables, distinguished by their airy silhouettes and beautifully perforated sheet metal tops. Both decorative and practical, they are lightweight yet stable, making them easy to move and perfectly suited to both indoor and sheltered outdoor settings.
Their timeworn painted finish has developed a wonderfully textured patina in soft pale pink or beige and green, creating richly layered surfaces that reflect decades of use. One tabletop bears an area of pink-red colour transfer, probably from an object left in place for many years, which has become part of the tables' authentic aged character.
With their delicate proportions and beautifully weathered finish, these guéridons bring an effortless sense of French country charm to a space. They work equally well beside a sofa, framing a doorway or on a terrace, where their softly faded colours and openwork design introduce texture, height and a romantic garden atmosphere to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
