A weighty pair of Napoleon III French cast bronze candlesticks, from the nineteenth century, each standing on a triform base with bold volute scrolls and tripod feet. The stems are faceted and knopped, rising to petal edged drip pans with candle sockets. Their silhouette recalls Baroque and early ecclesiastical models revived during the Second Empire, when Gothic Revival and Renaissance Revival motifs were reinterpreted for refined interiors. Parisian bronziers produced such forms with notable savoir-faire in casting and finishing, supplying both chapels and the domestic market.
Placed on a mantel, console, or dining table, they lend warmth, substance, and classical symmetry. Use with hand dipped beeswax tapers for an understated glow, or flank a mirror to anchor a fireplace arrangement. Their vertical lines and architectural bases make them easy to style year round, from everyday ambience to seasonal gatherings.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
