A stunning pair of bi-fold screens made in the early-nineteenth century in England. The fronts are decorated with exquisite floral motifs and garlands applied by hand using stencils on paper. The glossy brown and the way the paper has been fixed to the wooden frames with pretty studs is evocative of leather furniture. The backs are covered with canvas.
