This pair of early twentieth century ceramic milk / coffee pots comes from Dieulefit, a village known for its longstanding pottery tradition and distinctive use of mineral rich glazes. Each pot features a flamed chocolate glaze that moves organically across the surface, creating a striking contrast with the pale yellow glaze inside and around the rim. The forms are simple and robust, with gently flared rims and softly pinched pouring spouts that speak to their practical origins. The incised banding and warm patina reflect many years of use, giving the pair the rustic charm and quiet character that make Dieulefit ceramics so beloved.
Offered as a pair, petite in scale yet full of character, they present a warm, mottled patina that reads rustic and authentic. Style them on open shelving, a breakfast tray, or a kitchen console for milk, cream, or syrups, or repurpose as bud vases for seasonal stems. Their weathered surfaces and earthy palette harmonize effortlessly with linen, raw wood, and stone in country, coastal, or wabi-sabi interiors.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
