This pair of Provençal Dieulefit ceramic serving plates dates to the early 20th century. Each plate has a softly lobed rim and shallow well glazed in a luminous apple green with gentle mottling, framed by the traditional dark brown edge. Both remain in good condition with only minor rim and foot chips and light age-related crazing.
Dieulefit, in the Drôme Provençale, is celebrated for its rustic yet elegant pottery, long valued for everyday service. The scalloped profile reflects a provincial take on Louis XV taste, while the green glaze and brown rim are characteristic of the region’s production.
As a pair, these plates hold strong decorative power. They can anchor a rustic tablescape as chargers, add soft color to open shelving, or be mounted on a wall where their gentle green hue and dark edging bring Provençal charm to kitchen or dining interiors.
