This elegant pair of early-20th-century French footstools combines the graceful curves of Louis XV-inspired furniture with richly textured golden ocher upholstery. Their generously padded seats have softly rounded corners and are covered in a beautiful herringbone fabric with a subtle sheen that catches the light. A delicate cream and gold braid follows the edges, neatly outlining the cushions against the warm brown wood. The frames, probably walnut, feature gently scalloped aprons with molded edges and short cabriole legs that curve outward at the feet. The wood has developed a mellow patina, with light marks and wear consistent with age, along with a few old, treated wormholes. The upholstery is in good condition, retaining its lovely color and lustrous finish.
Both practical and decorative, these footstools have a relaxed elegance that makes them easy to incorporate into a variety of interiors. They would look beautiful side by side in front of a generous sofa, offering a comfortable place to rest one's feet, or arranged at the foot of a bed. Their warm golden upholstery would also work particularly well in a cozy library or sitting room, alongside antique wood furniture and richly colored textiles.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
