A graceful pair of Art Deco armchairs, dating to the 1930s or 1940s, crafted in warmly toned mahogany with a gentle, hand-rubbed sheen. The frames reveal Art Deco restraint in the sculptural arms, where two flowing curves meet at the hand rest in a gently rounded scroll, creating a subtle moment of emphasis within the otherwise streamlined form. The front legs taper gracefully and curve softly as they descend, reinforcing the chair’s fluid silhouette. Upright backs provide reassuring support and a clean, architectural counterpoint to the softened lines of the frame. Recently reupholstered in a botanical floral textile, the pattern sets hibiscus pinks and leaf greens against an ivory ground for a fresh, garden note. The chairs are comfortable and stable, in with minor surface wear to the fabric.
These versatile seats bring soft color and calm to a bedroom, where they work well by a window, at a vanity, or as a welcoming pair beside a low table. They also sit easily in a living room or entry, flanking a console or fireplace to lend warmth and refinement. The floral upholstery introduces a gentle lift of pattern, while the mahogany frames ground the look. As occasional chairs they provide dependable comfort and a timeless Art Deco silhouette that blends seamlessly with both classic and relaxed interiors.
