A graceful pair of Louis XV style fauteuils à la reine (queen-back armchairs), dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Each has a carved beech frame finished in an antique cream paint with soft pale green undertones. The design features a flat, cartouche-shaped back, open scrolling arms with upholstered arm pads, a serpentine seat rail, and cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet.
They have been recently reupholstered in an ivory cotton toile printed with charcoal pastoral scenes. The seats are of generous, comfortable proportions. The painted surfaces show an intentionally aged patina with scattered rubs, small chips, and minor paint losses, consistent with age. Upholstery is clean and firm, though a finishing trim is still required.
These armchairs bring an easy romantic note to a living room or bedroom, inviting use as a fireside pair or flanking a console in an entry. Their neutral palette sits equally well alongside Gustavian pieces, French country pine, or clean contemporary silhouettes.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
