A richly detailed pair of late 19th century gilt bronze candelabra, executed in an exuberant Rococo Revival style that draws directly from 18th century French models. Each candelabrum features four scrolling arms rising from a sculptural central stem, adorned with acanthus leaves, floral collars, and finely chased foliate motifs. The openwork bases are boldly modeled with cartouches and scrolling feet, giving the pieces a lively, animated silhouette from every angle. The casting is crisp and confident, with deep relief and careful articulation throughout, and the gilding has aged to a warm, softly glowing gold patina. The drip pans are now missing. Striking both lit and unlit, they bring a sense of ceremony and sculptural richness to an interior. Place them on a mantel flanking a mirror or as a dramatic centerpiece on a dining table. They pair beautifully with marble, crystal, or dark wood, creating a layered and elegant composition. Their ornamental presence adds depth, movement, and a note of historic grandeur to both classical and eclectic settings.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
