Confidently proportioned, this pair of cast iron urn planters, dating to the late 19th century, shows classical lines and an attractive time-earned surface. Each vessel has a waisted neck and a heavy rolled rim modeled with continuous bead and reel, above a generously gadrooned, melon-lobed body that tapers to a turned socle and circular plinth with matching ornament. The metallic gray patina displays warm russet traces of rust, light pitting, and scattered abrasions consistent with age and outdoor use; the pair is structurally sound and presents in weathered, good condition.
Equally striking indoors or out, this pair lends classical balance to a landscape or terrace. They can flank a doorway, define a garden axis, or stand at the corners of a parterre, their patina blending beautifully with stone and greenery. Indoors, they anchor a console or fireplace with the same sense of calm proportion and sculptural weight, whether planted or displayed empty.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
