This pair of late 19th-century Provençal fauteuils forms a charming set, with arched backs topped by petite finials and open arms terminating in turned ball ends. The hardwood frames display a later soft blue-grey painted finish, attractively timeworn and highlighting the block-and-baluster turned legs joined by a boxed stretcher. Each chair has been freshly reupholstered in natural ecru linen with close-set nail head trim and fitted with a generous loose seat cushion for comfort.
Perfect as a conversational pair flanking a fireplace, these fauteuils also suit a light-filled bedroom or library corner, where their neutral linen and blue-grey frames provide a calm anchor for layered textiles. Their relaxed lounge scale makes them equally at home beside a Gustavian console, a rustic farm table, or a sisal rug. The serene palette complements stone, bleached oak, and other natural finishes, bringing understated Provençal charm to both traditional and coastal interiors.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
