A handsome pair of Medici-style garden urns, French, dating from the mid-20th century. Made from cast concrete, they follow a classic design often seen in gardens and estates across France. Each urn features the elegant Medici shape, with a wide flared bowl above a gadrooned lower section, set on a stepped round pedestal and square base. They are well-proportioned and substantial, giving them a strong presence without feeling too heavy.
What makes these urns special is their beautiful natural patina, developed over many years outdoors. Layers of golden-green lichen, pale grey moss, and natural weathering create a rich and varied surface. The condition is in line with age and outdoor use, with light wear that adds to their authentic character.
They would look striking placed on either side of a doorway, at the corners of a terrace, or along a gravel path. Indoors, they can be displayed on pedestals and planted with ivy, or placed on a console to bring the feel of a French estate into the room.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
